This warm cinnamon apple crisp has been my go to fall dessert for years a perfect mix of sweet and spice that everyone loves

Ingredients

  • Apples: 6 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Filling: 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 tablespoon all purpose flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg Pinch of salt
  • Crisp Topping: 3/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes

Instructions

Preheat Oven:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) Grease a 9 inch (23 cm) square or round baking dish
Toss Apples:
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice
Mix Filling:
In a separate small bowl, mix granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt Sprinkle this mixture over the apples and toss to coat
Prepare Baking Dish:
Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly
Make Topping:
For the topping, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl Add the cold butter and use your fingers or a pastry blender to work the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs
Apply Topping:
Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples
Bake:
