04 - 2 tbsp (0.9 oz) vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother coating)

06 - 24 mini pretzel loops or candy-coated chocolate pieces (for ornament tops)
07 - Edible gold or silver luster dust (optional)

# How to Make It:

01 - Prepare and bake cake according to package directions. Let cool completely.
02 - Break cooled cake into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl.
03 - Add frosting gradually, stirring until mixture holds together and is moldable.
04 - Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into smooth balls. Place on parchment paper-lined tray.
05 - Refrigerate cake balls for at least 30 minutes.
06 - In microwave-safe bowl, melt candy melts or white chocolate, stirring until smooth. Stir in shortening if needed to thin.
07 - Dip one end of lollipop sticks into melted coating and insert halfway into each cake ball. Chill 10 minutes to set.
08 - Fully dip each cake pop in melted coating, gently tapping off excess.
09 - Before coating sets, decorate with sprinkles, glitter, or candies to resemble ornaments. Attach pretzel loop or candy for top hook.
10 - Place pops upright in styrofoam block or cake pop stand until coating fully sets.
